Very curious about the picture's to. It isn't very simple to take one of a very vibrant fish. How are your other fish doing?

these are the best photos that I could do. I turned my camera on for the first time in a few weeks to find out that my screen display is all garbled, so I am shooting blind now and kind of remember dripping brackish water on it ....

Anyways, he is back to using only one gill again. When I saw him using both yesterday, it was late in the day after the lights had gone out and that is when he starts his usual nigh time pacing, except now he is playing in the water stream from the powerhead and thus being much more exercise. Perhaps he only uses it when needed ... I wouldn't be too concerned if he wasn't flashing also.

A couple of shots attached. It is the fishes right gill which is the enlarged and active one, which you can sort of notice in the second photo. More photos on my old blog: http://pufferaqualog.blogspot.com/ The white spots are primarily air bubbles from my HOB filter while I do my water change.

I would say about 5 to 7 cms

Wow does he live in fresh or brackish water?

Some say they are fresh, other say they need salt. How do you keep him?

it is in light brackish, should be between 1.02 and 1.05; I haven't checked in a while.

I bought it off a private sale who had kept it in fresh water and as soon as I started to drip in salt it's behaviour totally changed and became much more lively.

How large are your tanks for them and do you adjust them to biotope conditions?

I was/am trying to start a couple of mangrove pods for the T. erythrotaenia, but haven't had much luck with those. Supposedly they are native to mangrove swamps, but am probably going to go with vals in it's 29 gallon tank.

I brought my saba up to 1.22 today and sadly am still seeing flashing. Going to hold there for 4 or 5 days and if it persists, drop down to 1.10 and run a treatment of sulfa antibiotices. If that doesn't work, IDK!

Anyways, surprisingly marbled crayfish can survive in full marine, even without any acclimation. I have had one dug in since about 1.05 and I dropped one in this morning that got away and then this evening I saw as the saba flushed it out and ate it.
