Fahaka Biotopes
I have had my Kaiser for about 2 years now and I am in the process of researching a biotope for him. He is in a 125g with a sand substrate and some driftwood and pagoda stone. I would post a picture but my camera is not working.
What I am curious about is to see others Fahaka's tanks to try and get some ideas of what I can do in Kaisers tank. The one drawback is I do not think I am going to be able to use live plants because he eats them But I would try again.
Thanks

Re: Fahaka Biotopes
Yes, he gets at the roots first then he eats the leaves.
I love how your tank is set-up. Thank you for sharing, it is very beautiful.

Re: Fahaka Biotopes
In my Fahaka-tank i had only Anubias barteri and Echinodorus radicans broadleaf, that did servive!
Sorry.. no photo's.. lost them all when my old computer died. (losts of wood, few stones, only plants on the wood, and in the back of the tank)

Re: Fahaka Biotopes
You all are giving me good ideas. I love the Vallisneria in there. I can try it and hope that he doesn't eat it.

Re: Fahaka Biotopes
Our Fahaka was in a planted tank too. But he also nipped the leaves of the plants, but not to bad.
A shame he's eating the roots. Maybe you can protect the root in some way, or with heavier substrate?

Re: Fahaka Biotopes
yes, I have heard of fahakas destroying even plastic plants regularly.
